Poet Doctor is an independent medical humanities research initiative studying medicine as a human practice.
Through physician writing, historical archives, digital methods, and AI-era inquiry, it investigates how medicine understands itself and how the theory and practice of doctoring may evolve.
Our approach
We work across poetry, scholarship, archives, and AI-era inquiry. These are not separate interests. They are different methods for studying the same human work. Together, they help connect a long physician tradition to the future design of medicine.
What we are building
A new era for doctoring
AI is changing how medicine handles information, prediction, documentation, and decision support. That change does not make doctoring less important. It makes the human responsibilities of doctoring more visible and more necessary. The future of medicine will depend not only on smarter systems, but on stronger forms of human judgment.
